International Society of Applied Ethology (ISAE)
Welcome to the 44th ISAE Conference
in Uppsala, Sweden!
Research in Applied Ethology has a long tradition at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Traditionally it was carried out on farm animals, but today we also investigate behaviours of other animals kept by man as for example companion animals. It is therefore a privilege and honour to announce the 44th Conference of the International Society of Applied Ethology in Sweden. The event will take place August 3–7, 2010 in the Uppsala Concert & Congress Hall in the heart of Uppsala.
The conference is open to all researchers, teachers and others interested in the area of applied ethology and animal welfare.
The conference is organised around four theme sessions which all include a plenary talk and shorter oral presentations. At the end of the conference a ‘free papers’ session is organised with short oral presentations. We plan to have two parallel sessions with separate themes for each session. There will be 4-6 workshops optional to organise for anyone during one afternoon.
An internationally outstanding scientist will be invited to give the David Wood-Gush Memorial lecture.
Posters will be on display during the whole conference. Coffee breaks and one evening give plenty of time for poster reviewing. A prize will be awarded the best poster.
You will have the opportunity to join technical tours to historical sites and applied animal research facilities in the neighbourhood of Uppsala or Stockholm, organised during one afternoon. Accompanying persons can choose from a social program.
The welcome reception will be given at the conference facility. Uppsala castle provides a magnificent atmosphere for the congress banquette and the farewell party will be at the campus of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
On-line registration and submission of abstracts will open in December 2009. Deadline for abstract and poster submission is March 2010.
